This week’s RIAC - Motorsport Ireland classic video from the RPM Motorsport collection is highlights from the 2002 Circuit of Ireland. Following the tragic losses of Bertie Fisher and Frank Meagher and a Foot and Mouth Disease enforced hiatus, the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship resumed in 2002 with the Circuit of Ireland and a new base, Enniskillen. Andrew Nesbitt was at the peak of his powers around this time and he dominated the event behind the wheel of a P2000 Subaru Impreza WRC to win by over 2 and a half minutes. It was to be start of a devastatingly dominant season for the Armagh driver and his co-driver James O’Brien. This programme will be available to stream below from 7pm on April 14th. Next week’s upload will see highlights from the 1997 running of the Rally of the Lakes.
