​This week’s RIAC - Motorsport Ireland classic video from the RPM Motorsport collection is highlights from the 1992 Circuit of Ireland Rally.
By 1992, Frank Meagher had long proven his pace in outdated machinery but despite having led many Irish Tarmac Rally Championship rounds, he had never won one. Despite having moved up to a Group A Sierra Cosworth in 1991, technology had moved on and with rivals Kenny McKinstry, Bertie Fisher and Austin McHale all now in 4 wheel drive cars, Meagher in the 2 wheel drive Sierra was once again, against the odds. However, over 4 days and 400 competitive miles, anything was possible….
